Built because…

The real build story.

The irritation

Generating a simple QR code often leads to signup gates, expiring links, watermarks, or a service receiving data it never needed to see.

What I built

I made a client-side generator with content types, colors, shapes, sizing, transparent backgrounds, live preview, and downloadable PNG output.

The hard part

Customization cannot compromise scan reliability, so visual controls have to preserve contrast, quiet zones, and an understandable recovery path when a design becomes fragile.

Under the casing

Proof, not decoration.

Outcome and lesson.

Where it landed

QR Code is a released, focused utility that performs its work in the browser without requiring an account or server-side content upload.

What stayed

Privacy can come from deleting an unnecessary system. When the browser can complete the task, a database and user account would only add liability.

This project has a physical address.

In the playable workshop, QR Code lives in the Prototype Bench as a qr label printer. You can inspect it without unlocking anything.
