Built because…

The real build story.

The irritation

Most IPTV software made navigating a large channel list feel like database work. I wanted the guide to behave like a purpose-built television product.

What I built

I built a signed Electron application with React interfaces, multiple streaming paths, licensing, updates, and Cloudflare-backed account services.

The hard part

Playback is never one problem: HLS, MPEG-TS, codec support, process boundaries, remote-friendly input, packaging, and recovery all have to cooperate.

Under the casing

Proof, not decoration.

Build evidence03 items
  1. HLS and MPEG-TS playback paths backed by FFmpeg tooling
  2. Signed Windows releases with licensing and application updates
  3. A remote-friendly guide designed around television-scale browsing
  • Electron
  • React
  • TypeScript
  • HLS
  • MPEG-TS
  • FFmpeg
  • Cloudflare D1
  • Cloudflare R2

Scope of work

What I owned.

  • Product design
  • Desktop engineering
  • Media systems
  • Release operations

No victory-lap math

Outcome and lesson.

Where it landed

JBigs TV is a released Windows product with a real installation, update, licensing, and distribution path rather than a browser-only demo.

What stayed

Desktop media software rewards defensive engineering. The graceful failure states around playback and updates matter as much as the happy path.
