Built because…

The real build story.

The irritation

CRM users repeatedly ask administrators how their company expects a field, process, or record to be handled, even when the answer exists somewhere in ignored documentation.

What I built

I built an elephant-butler assistant inside HubSpot record sidebars. Admins uploaded SOPs and training material; users asked company-specific questions; the product also included persistent chats, admin monitoring, FAQ generation, licensing, and billing.

The hard part

Answers had to stay grounded in the correct portal's documents, but the beta also exposed a larger product gap: users expected the assistant to understand the record open in front of them, not only the uploaded guidance.

Under the casing

Proof, not decoration.

Outcome and lesson.

Where it landed

Fondsworth reached a functioning beta, but only one tester adopted it and the core job overlapped with HubSpot's emerging agent platform. I sunset the product in September 2025.

What stayed

A friendly RAG interface is not enough. The assistant needs a narrow, high-frequency job, the right live context, and an advantage the host platform is unlikely to absorb.
