JBigs Supply

What started as a 2AM idea for a novelty t-shirt has spiraled into a full blown clothing line. Enter the JBigs Supply — my fashion outlet.

There are good internet days, and then there are Great Internet Days. Yesterday was one of those. OpenAI dropped its GPT-4o image model and the internet went ballistic Your entire feed? Just Studio Ghibli versions of everything—Ghibli Sopranos, Ghibli Hawk Tuah, Ghibli me and Ghibli you. As I write this, I still have no clue what Studio Ghibli is, I’m assuming an anime? But for like 24 hours, we all lived in this beautiful ephemeral utopia where nobody was promoting a podcast and no brands had arrived to ruin the vibe yet.

But the more important thing was: the model is insane.

I’ve used a lot of AI image generators, like since before they became mainstream (I got influenced by Google Deep Dream and would experiment with local models on my home computer). This one is different. With the DALL·E models, it felt like OpenAI was really holding back. You would often be told it couldn’t complete certain requests because there was a human in it or because a celebrity was named in the prompt. I feel like OpenAI felt some of the pressure from Grok and Midjourney and just said “f*** it”. This thing understands pop culture, its not afraid to mimic media styles, it’ll work with images of humans — famous or not. Its not annoying with disclaimers or warnings and doesn’t refuse your requests. After playing with it for a bit,  I knew almost immediately what I had to do.

The Idea

You ever here someone say the word “Sopranos” out loud? But the incorrect, funny way… So-prawn-ohs. Well, back when DALL·E dropped, I had this funny idea for a t-shirt at like 2AM. Tony Soprawno. It’s him, but also he’s a prawn. Its one of those fever dream ideas you have that sound great in the moment, but later on you realize they’re kind of dumb. Except, later on I still thought it was really funny, so I fully sent it and designed it:

Tony Soprawno V1

I shared this with my boss at the time, who told me it would be a great idea to sell it in an online store. She explained that using Printify (not sponsored, sorry to disappoint), it was super easy to turn designs like this into passive income. You upload a design, someone buys it, Printify prints and ships without you lifting a finger. I did actually make a few more designs, but the models just weren’t there yet. For 24 hours, I converted my Instagram into Business mode, archived all my photos, changed my name and handle, and sold a total of zero shirts. I didn’t fully commit to the bit and being honest, it just wasn’t good enough. Also, I lost like 20 followers. Oh well.

Anyway, Tony Soprawno V1 didn’t take off like I thought he would, so I shelved the idea and moved on with my life.

Until yesterday.

Because GPT-4o came out and suddenly… Tony Soprawno looks like this:

A lot less nightmare fuel, a whole lot more cool. Although, I have been told by several people the first version goes way harder.

The Rebirth of My Novelty-Tee Empire

Fueled by a vision, a ChatGPT Pro subscription, and a cursory search through my Netflix/Hulu/Max history: I installed the WooCommerce plug-in, connected Printify, and generated 20 absolute bangers. And now you can buy them, right here on jbigs.com.

Some are definitely better than others. Here are my favorites:

Some of these images were lightly touched up in Photoshop (background tweaks, etc). But many of them? Pure, raw, unfiltered GPT-4o/Sora output. I’m still not over how AI is just that good now.

How It Works

  • All shirts are printed on demand via Printify. I don’t touch anything. You order it, they make it, they ship it.
  • I’m charging as little as possible. These are novelty shirts. Not “high fashion for weirdos.” Just funny stuff that makes me laugh.
  • You can use code JBSUPPLY10 for 10% off. Because why not.
  • If a design is only available in t-shirt form and you want it on a hoodie, crewneck, or whatever—email me. Same goes for color swaps.
  • 100% of profits go to charity (Breakthrough T1D)

Why? Because It’s Funny & Charity is Cool

I don’t have a better business case here, this honestly, is just for the bit. I would unironically replace my entire wardrobe with these shirts if I had the capital. Every design kills me. I’m not saying you have to buy one, but if you do, please send me a photo of you wearing Mouse MD at a hospital.

Also, if you have a dumb animal/TV pun and want me to make it into a shirt, email me. If it’s funny, I’ll generate the image and add it to the shop. I am not above crowdsourcing your bad (or awesome) ideas.

The Takeaway

JBigs Supply is live. I’m a shirt salesmen now, remind me to add it to the resume.

Buy a shirt. Send it to a friend. Confuse a coworker. And remember: its for a good cause.

Sorry for the interruption...
